Letter D is a restaurant owned by one of Indonesia's well known chef, Degan Septoadji. He is one of the judge in a TV cooking show Masterchef Indonesia. I was really excited because I heard he creates an amazing twist to Indonesian food.
Their specialtize is Salmon Lodeh. Lodeh is an Indonesian cuisine, it is sort of a coconut milk soup or curry served with cooked vegetables. This cuisine is not usually served as a fine dining dish, more like a comfort food for Indonesia people. Using salmon is not Lodeh's true nature, because salmon is generally quiet expensive since we don't have salmon in our ocean. The texture of the salmon is really tender and the surface is not greasy, grill-burnt, nor white as if it is poached. It is perfectly cooked using slow grilled technique. The vegetables under the salmon is zucchini, pumpkin, eggplant, chilli, and galangal. They make the coconut broth as a foam, which I think is really creative and innovative. I thought the taste would be a little strange, however it is the best interplay of two culture dish.

Other dish that I tried also Indonesia's signature dish served in a very fine way. Mie Goreng means fried noodle. It is served with Indonesian style meatballs, vegetables, and egg. On the side, there is the famous Indonesian chicken satay with peanut sauce and a drizzle of sweet soy sauce. For me this dish taste like other mie goreng that you could find anywhere, however the platting is really presentable and possibly my breakfast in bed dish goals.

I think this beverage is really good. The combination of lychee syrup and the lemongrass is really refreshing. The lemongrass gives it a tangy and minty flavor to the drink which I really love. I hope it served cooler than this though.
