Where To Eat Brunch in Manchester?

Deciding where to eat for brunch can be overwhelming for some people. So, I've compiled some of my favourite brunch places here in Manchester. Although I have encountered many brunch places, here are some of my favourite brunch places in Northern Quarter.
Federal Cafe Bar is probably the first thing that popped up when you type "brunch in Manchester." Well, it's probably because they pretty much bring the Antipodean style cafe to the city. I must admit that Australian's brunch places are one of the best places to get brunch. Besides the fact that they are very 'instagramable', their menu involves a lot of runny egg yolks! They also serve artisan coffee, which is a popular choice of drink during brunch time and also a range of cocktails. I must say their mimosa is pretty good, however, I didn't try their artisan coffee and I regret that.
For some reason, I was having a sweet tooth that day, so I ordered their French Toast. I never really eat dessert for breakfast but to be honest, their french toast is really good and I am pretty sure the main reason is their whipped vanilla mascarpone. I like that it's not too sweet and the tartness of the berries just complement the overall dish.
The ambience of the cafe is very homey with the warm tones of wood and brick surrounding the area, which I think really suits their theme and their neighbourhood (Northern Quarter).

2. Mackie Mayor
Here at Mackie Mayor, you can enjoy up to 10 different restaurants in one place. I have to say, I love this place. The overall ambience, the food, the design. So far I went here 3 times already and this place just opened recently. I ordered food from Baohouse and the Fin Fish Bar.

If I could describe this place, it is like a marriage between a warehouse and a greenhouse. They have a high ceiling with windows on top, which allow natural light to enter making the overall ambience really warm and bright. They have this industrialised theme with their lamps and 'unfinished' details, which I really like because it's very different from other restaurants around. Also, the seating arrangement that resembles a high school cafeteria where you sit at a long table with other groups of people is really interesting because it allows you to socialise with others. It is a place that you definitely need to visit.

3. Cottonopolis
Cottonopolis is a Japanese inspired restaurant and bar. They only serve the brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday between 10 am to 2 pm. We ordered the Crispy Duck Leg and Fried Duck Egg and the Wagyu Brisket and Poached Egg Crumpet. I think their main concept is to combine Western brunch with Japanese element. I ordered the Crispy Duck and I think it is pretty interesting because they serve it over matcha waffles and also instead of using regular maple syrup as their sauce they replace it with a more sweet and sour sauce, which I believe includes yuzu dressing in it. I think it's pretty good but don't expect it to be your regular Duck and Waffle dish, because it's not. It's more refreshing since the sauce has a more tangy taste.
The place is pretty hectic. It took us awhile to be seated. So, if you do want to eat brunch here make sure you reserve your seat first. The place has a little bit of a modern Japanese inspired theme to it, but it's not completely Japanese-styled. For some reason, I got confused with the overall theme of the place because actually at first I didn't expect it to be a Japanese fusion restaurant. But, I think their idea is refreshing and different.

4. Fress
I think this is one of my favourite brunch places in Manchester. We ordered the Brisket Potato Hash and Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon. Both of them are amazing. What I like about this place is that they are straightforward with their food. Their menu is not too much, which I think is very important because it shows that they only serve the best ones on their menus. The beef brisket is really good, it is tender and flavourful. I love the combination of the beef, the hollandaise, the jalapeño, and the yolk together. The Eggs Benedict is really good as well and I think they use the same hollandaise as the brisket one, which is completely fine because their hollandaise is really good. It is rich and buttery with a little tanginess from the lemon. However, the place is pretty small, which is very unfortunate because there are a lot of people there.
