A review
Before you continue reading this blog post, there are some disclaimers:
I'm not a beauty expert
I'm not sponsored
All skin types are different and my review does not apply for every skin types. Mine is currently dry due to weather, but usually it is a combination with oily skin in the T-zone area.
This is purely subjective
Glossier is booming everywhere right now. I'm not quiet sure is it because the adorable and tumblrish packaging or is it because the quality of the brand. So, to end my curiosity, I bought some of their most well known products and try them for myself. I did try some of their products before, but since now I live in the UK and they just start shipping their products here (btw it's free at the moment) I just feel like I need to buy them again and try other products.
Skin Care
I've been using this moisturiser for the last 2 weeks (maybe more) just to make sure that I can see the effect of the product. First of all, the texture of the moisturiser is pretty light and easy to apply (not sticky). It leaves a good texture on your skin after using it. Also, it does not have that strong overwhelming scent, which I like, however it is not completely odourless as well. The content of the product is not as many as it seem to be since the glass of the packaging is quite thick in compared to space for the product. After using this for 2 weeks, my skin feels more moisturised. The most significant change is that in the morning, my face does not dry out like it used to.
I bought three of the balm dotcom, which are the Birthday, Rose, and Mint. The balm's texture in general is very waxy and dense. The dense texture allows you to use them in small amount, therefore making you're purchase more worth it. It's a little bit sticky, however it stays on your lips for a long time. What I like about this balm is that it does not give you that glossy finish instead it gives you that matte look. The Mint one is one of my favourite, it has a strong minty scent (which probably is not for everyone) and it leaves a cool feeling in your lips after using it. Personally, I love this one the most because it reminds me of Carmex lip balm. It soothes the lips and it leaves a tingly fresh feeling afterwards. The Rose one has a light tint to it, which can be used as a lip tint as well. The birthday one has a birthday cake scent, actually it is just a normal vanilla cake scent. They release this on their anniversary. I love the packaging for this one, it is very festive and glittery. Not only the packaging is glittery, they actually put glitter in the balm. However, due to the dense and waxy texture, the glitter does not spread evenly sometimes. But, if it does spread evenly, it gives a very nice halo effect to your lips. Not too flashy, just a subtle halo.
Make Up
I bought the Puff and Beam shades. First of all, I love the packaging (obviously you can tell). I think it is really clever to put it on a paint tube. The product itself is very tinted, so I suggest if you do buy this, just dab a little to your cheeks and lips. The product itself is pretty useful in my opinion because it has multiple functions in such a small tube. The strong tint actually helps you to use less of the product in a single use. The product also stays in your skin for a long time.
I bought this one before and I still love it. It's easy to apply and fast! Every time I need to go somewhere and I don't have time to use a proper eyebrow makeup, I always use this. The packaging is small too so that it can fit to your pocket and ready to be use anytime you need it. It acts like a brow pomade and the colour stays on your brow for a long time. It's also smudge free. But, I do need additional eyebrow pencil sometime because it does not have enough boldness to it, which is fine because it is a pomade for brow. I'm using the Brown shades even though I have a black coloured hair. Just for your information.
This is in Quartz. For a highlighter, Haloscope is quite light. It does not have that over the top shimmery look, it has a more subtle highlight. It almost resembles a sweat but in a nicer dewy finish. I think it is an everyday highlighter rather than a party highlighter. Overall, the highlighter is pretty standard for me although it has some beneficial features like the stick packaging that makes it easy to use and portable. I recommend this for people who love the 'no make up make up look'.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know what you think. It's just a lipgloss. I do admit this is one of those impulsive purchases because I got caught up by their adorable packaging and their dewy-looking ad pics. It is a straight forward lip gloss that make your lips glossy and I do not think that it moisturise the lips that much. It is a little heavy and sticky, but that is just like other lip gloss would give you.

Conclusion
"Is it worth the hype?"
Well, they do have some good products. I do admit they have a very clever marketing strategy. I mean, I got enticed by their beautiful looking ads and packaging. Personally, I would definitely repurchase some of their products. Those are the Priming Moisturizer and the Boy Brow. As for the 'worth the hype', I guess if you like that natural and dewy look this products are definitely for you. The cute packaging is definitely their unique selling point. However, you can definitely get other cheaper products with the same quality as this.
