St. Ali is originally based in Melbourne, but they open a new branch here at Setiabudi, Jakarta. I went there pretty much at the week when they started the grand opening. It was really crowded there since people really in the hype to see this Melbourne-style brunch and coffee. The barista was one of New York's Barista winner, so I need to try their coffee ASAP.
I ordered this crispy potato hash with mushroom duxelle, poached egg, shaved parmesan, chlorophyll, and truffle vinaigrette. To be honest the presentation looks amazing and definitely insta-worthy, however the taste is okay. Its not that bad either, its just lacking the "it" factor. Probably a drizzle of sauce would be fantastic because its kinda too plain for me. The mushroom however speaks for its own flavor, it is juicy and rich, I would add a little more seasoning though.
For the price I think they make it too over-priced. I get it that they want to implement it from Australia and they probably import some of its ingredients, but it is definitely not supposed to be that expensive for poached egg on a hash. By the way, the coffee taste great.
