Cork & Screw


Another Brunch day at Jakarta. I was casually walking around Pacific Place Mall Jakarta in SCBD with my dad. I spotted this restaurant next to Paul. It was a sophisticated casual dining at the terrace of Pacific Place Mall. We can see the road and buildings around Jakarta.

Here at Cork and Screw their specialies are their bagel and their wine. They have a full rack of wine and a bagel counter in the middle of the restaurant. But, I guess the bagel counter is only for weekends. I ordered the Lox and Schmear, the typical English breakfast. Salmon gravlax and poached eggs on top of whole wheat sourdough with onion remoulade (French aoli), tobiko, and gherkins (pickles). Let me comment on the pressentation of the dish. It is really beautiful and I see how they make a twist out of it.

I love the combination of the salmon gravlax and the remoulade with the sourdough. It makes the sourdough tender and moist.

I ordered another salmon dish which is the Salmon Two Ways onToasted Sourdough. I just realized how similar both of the dish was. However, if you get a chance to come here and you can only order one type of salmon dish, order the Lox and Schmear. The scrambled egg is a little bit bland and off with the whole dish. It supposed to be salty since they said that they put capers and truffle here, but somehow I cannot taste the truffle at all.
